My Blog

Thanks for stopping by! I use to blog to "keep in touch," I use to blog to brag, I use to blog for an outlet. I have now realized I blog because these are the things I want my children to know/remember about our life together as a family. These days won't stop passing, but having a record of it when it is all a memory will be priceless to me.
I read your blog because I love you!

Happy Birthday Moo Moo Cachoo!!

I wish that I had a vocabulary to express how much I love this little guy! Max turned 3 on March 31st. I can't believe that this little guy is already 3! Max loves cars, trains, motorcycles and anything with a motor. He plays with others or by himself with ease. He is in love with his baby brother and sister and brings such a joyous spirit into our home. He took cupcakes to his "preschool playgroup."

I left him alone with his cupcakes and this is what happened to them! When I didn't get mad and said, "well, it is your birthday" he decided that it was okay to continue this behavior and another cupcake got sacrificed! After preschool we got happy meals (a birthday and grandma only treat) and headed to Classic Skate. We met a friend there and played in a pirate playground! They loved it!
Max wanted a car cake that went vroomm. This is what I could come up with. He was happy so that is ALL that mattered!

Max loves hats! He is in between any sizes we have right now so he was so stoked to get a baseball cap for his birthday!

He gave hugs and kisses to express gratitude for his gifts.
I know Cooper is blurry in this picture but they are just too cute together aren't they? My mom and dad were in town for his birthday! It is always a treat to have Grammy and Grandpa around! The only problem? Turner has started talking about when they come for his birthday!! I reminded him that they were here for his 3rd birthday and they can't come for every birthday. It is so hard to live so far away from all of our family. We just need to either convince all of my family to move up here or Josh's parents and brother to move to AZ...
Amelia's hair is just out of control!
Grandpa playing with the train pieces they got him for his birthday!

GG and Crapa brought bubbles to the boys (along with awesome presents) we took a break to go outside and blow bubbles!

Then we proceeded to have cake and ice cream!

Happy Birthday my little guy! Max is such an easy going kid and loves to make people happy. He is smart, funny and gets along with everyone. I feel so lucky to be his mom and pray everyday that I can be worthy of him. I love you Max!!

Cooper's big day

Our little Cooper had to have surgery. He had some "plumbing" issues that needed to be attended to. We were so grateful that he was able to get it taken care of at Primary Children's Hospital. It is one of the best. He didn't check in for his surgery until 12:00 which meant that he had to fast from midnight the night before! Luckily I got to nurse him until 9:30 but I was so worried about how he would do. He had a much easier time about the WHOLE thing than I did. It was heart wrenching to hand my little 7 month old baby over to the anaesthesiologist. I have such a respect for mother's that have to go through major medical issues.

The night before Cooper had a priesthood blessing from his father and grandfather. In our church we believe that worthy men can hold the priesthood, the power of God. Josh and his dad hold this priesthood. It has been handed down through worthy priesthood holders all the way from Christ himself. I also received a priesthood blessing. Josh blessed me that I would be calm. As he said this, a feeling of peace rushed over my whole body. I felt a peace that I haven't felt in a long long time. I think I felt more relaxed than I have since the twins were born! On the day of Cooper's surgery whenever I needed to feel that peace again, I just remembered that moment and calm returned to my whole body.

A line from the Bob Marley song Three Little Birds kept coming to my mind. "Don't you worry about a thing, every little thing is gonna be alright." So I kept singing it to Cooper. He didn't need it, he really had no idea what was going on! But I needed it!

He did really great but I knew I couldn't handle going into the post op room. I sent Josh in and then when he was in recovery I went in and nursed him. He kept falling asleep like a bran new baby and I realized just how big my baby is.

Overall I thank the Lord for the blessing of modern medicine and the skilled doctors who dedicate their lives to children's "plumbing" problems!

March Misc. phone pictures

Amelia swiped this cookie right out of her father's hand! They are grabby babies, but of course I think Amelia got the Mangum cookie gene!
Yes that is my son loading up his plate with salad! This kid loves anything you label healthy (except turning off the TV)

Here he is reading the nutritional label!

Our little Max is such a nurturer... He loves to nurse his babies! What do you get when that is what you see your mom do ALL DAY LONG!
We have enjoyed our membership to the discovery gateway children's museum. It expired at the end of March. If we can ever find another deal like that last one! We got a 6 month membership for $25.

Babies covered in applesauce! They are messy messy when they eat (but getting better)

Happy St. Patrick's day!

St. patrick's day was pretty low key at our house. We made green shamrock pancakes with green milk for breakfast, read and ate green eggs and ham for dinner. A leprechaun came and left clues to his pot of gold and overall we just enjoyed wearing the awesome color green!

I love this paci stealing sequence. They do this ALL the time! They also do this with toys too!

Feb. misc. phone pictures

So here are a few pictures from my phone- not quality ones mind you but a little snapshot of our family life in the month of Feb.

Okay this one was kinda funny... my big boys are sure curious and they know when mom is distracted. I was feeding the babies baby food in their high chairs. Do you see said chair on the right of the picture? Well Max went into the kitchen and got graham crackers and smashed them into the area rug and I didn't notice until he had already made this big of a mess! Oh goodness is it any wonder I get so worn out just getting my posse ready for the day and ready for bed?

The day of St. Valentine

So Valentines day was a fun day at the Thomson household. We hosted our first non-preschool party. It was fun! We loved having a bunch of little guys and a couple of cute girls at our home!

Valentines night we did what we do best... pizza!
These were our valentines/party favors... Crayons! Josh made them with a little help from Turner. He made the label and packaged them and everything! Yeah I know he is a sweetheart!
He also gave me a red tote with all things red inside (a couple of pink bonuses) It was super sweet of him!

out of touch

Life has been pretty dull around our house lately. We were sick and just overwhelmed for a while. I am starting to feel like I am among the living with these longer days and warmer weather. I am so EXCITED to plant our garden. We were even looking into getting some chickens but our lot is too small. I need to take the matter before the city council but I am not sure I am up for it. Life just seems to be getting crazier with the twins getting bigger. Cooper is having a routine out patient surgery next week. I can't help but be very nervous about the whole thing. It isn't anything major but how many times have you heard those sad stories about someone dying from a routine surgery. Of course it is a million times more common to have everything work out just fine.
I am excited to be doing preschool again next fall. I will only be doing one session but I am excited to have a little more structure in our day. I made this cute label for the registration packets. I haven't done much in advertising but I am getting quite a few people interested just by word of mouth. I think we will leave it at that... what I get, I get I am just excited for our new adventures!
BTW I got this cute paper and owl from my cousin Melissa Mott's website. If I didn't have a baby screaming upstairs I would take the time to put a link to in here but the name is green leaf designs! She is amazing!
