My Blog

Thanks for stopping by! I use to blog to "keep in touch," I use to blog to brag, I use to blog for an outlet. I have now realized I blog because these are the things I want my children to know/remember about our life together as a family. These days won't stop passing, but having a record of it when it is all a memory will be priceless to me.
I read your blog because I love you!

Happy Thought- Parties

As long as I can remember I have always loved a good party. Birthdays as a child were always magical- if it was your party or someone else's it didn't matter- just any reason to get together was enough. Of course as I got older it just seemed like there were more and more opportunities to get together- stake dances, movie parties on Friday night, a night out with the girls. In High School it was a party pretty much Friday and Sat. night and then along came college um... that was just one big party Monday-Sunday you could almost always find something awesome going on. So here I am and it seems like no one ever gets together for a party anymore! Someone has to get pregnant, married, or wants to earn some Pampered Chef goods for us to get together and even then around here no one shows up. As you know I am selling Usbourne books and I was talking to someone who is having a party and they were worried that people would be offended at being invited! As you also know I am suppose to be having a sisters reunion this weekend and besides Shannon whose idea it was I have had one other person say they hoped they could come... is it just the area I live in? Is it just the people I associate with? I went to a baby shower last night and it was for 4 girls and hardly anyone showed up! What I am saying is that I love a party.. I know it is harder once all of your friends have children and you start to think.. if I have 3 friends over and they have an average of 3 kids a piece that could be up to 15 people not to mention the ensuing chaos. I guess all I am saying folks is that I love parties and I am thankful for the sacrifice and effort that people who choose to still to have them put into it. In the words of my good friends Wayne and Garth- Party on!

"To educate yourself for the feeling of gratitude means to take nothing for granted, but to always seek out and value the kind that will stand behind the action. Nothing that is done for you is a matter of course. Everything originates in a will for the good, which is directed at you. Train yourself never to put off the word or action for the expression of gratitude."

Well shoot Tiffany I think it is time for you to go on a road trip! I know we could get some of the old Prescott girls together down here and throw you a party just for coming!!

It would actually be pretty fun. Sarah lives just a couple miles away and so does Trish. And doesn't your sister or sisters live her too??? I bet even Raynee and Meegan might come down from Prescott!!

So Tiff, I've actually had the thought of doing a murder party over christmas when Heidi is up here with the 3 of us (I don't think I can get Greta in it because Adam doesn't care for them, at all), but I know that Heidi would be more up to it if you are, and if you're the one that suggests doing it. It would be ideal if Greta joined in because we could have it at her place in Lehi, instead of ours in Springville.

I'm so like you, I need socialization, and boy it has been so hard to make friends, pretty much since I got married. Tell me more about your book parties, and I could probably hook you up down here, unless your Springville contact would be better at it. (I got a lot of grandmothers in my ward, as well as mothers)

We've also been thinking about hiring a photographer since stephen's too leary about taking Franklin back to an actual studio since it didn't go so well. Of course it's hard to make a decision about where and when to do it. Are you still doing photography?

We're a party family for sure Tiffany.
For Dru's 30th we had a 'themed party' It was 1920's. Everyone moaned to begin with but in the end really LOVED it.
I really think we should do it more.
Everyone is TOO BORING.
Party up large baby.

AMEN Tiffany!!! Just b/c you have kids doesn't mean you can't still PARTY!!! I love a good party, we just had one here a couple nights ago for some friends who were leaving. The kids are always plenty and crazy, but it sure is fun!!

You know I don't pass up any chance to have a party at my house! And by the way, I want to get together during priesthood session Saturday night for a GNO. Interested?
