My Blog

Thanks for stopping by! I use to blog to "keep in touch," I use to blog to brag, I use to blog for an outlet. I have now realized I blog because these are the things I want my children to know/remember about our life together as a family. These days won't stop passing, but having a record of it when it is all a memory will be priceless to me.
I read your blog because I love you!

24 Weeks!

I can't believe that I am already 24 weks! I am so glad to have gotten to this point without too many problems. I have been told to put my feet up when I can and that my body is going to start fighting back but as of right now everything is still looking good. I saw my belly jumping today. It made me laugh right out loud. 24 weeks is considered the age of viability meaning they will probably live if they were born today but for sure not what I want! 2 more weeks and they have a 90% chance but 30 wks they will most likely not have any long term affects. All of these things are what women pregnant with twins talk about- there is just so much more that can go wrong! So what do you think we should name them?
Jack and Jill?
Luke and Leia?
Donny and Marie?
Rhett and Scarlet?
We are still searching!

Easter Photoshoot

I think I am the only person who didn't put my kids in their Easter outfits the week before Easter, we waited until the week after. But- it was worth the wait! Look how handsome they are! This was Josh trying to get them to do a GQ pose. I thought it was so funny!

AZ dreaming

Family, Friends, Conference, White Mountains, full lakes, BBQ'a, Surprise Baby Shower, Lego store, Lego bride and groom photo shoot, cousins galore, feeding/holding chickens, smores, picnic at the lake, laughter, dirty faces, fresh eggs, lots of pine trees, memory lane, AZ dreaming and feeling home... we had such a great time in AZ and didn't take near enough pictures. Here are a few of the ones I happened to catch!

Here are Max and Turner riding the train at the train park in Scottsdale. My cousin Julie took the day off to spend with us! We had such a great time! We brought her nephew along with us and what boy doesn't love trains!

Here are the 3 of them from behind. It was a great ride!

They also had a carousel and the boys loved their rides. Turner even had a sad moment when he was saying good bye to his horse!

That night the whole extended family all gathered together for a BBQ and an Easter egg hunt! It was so fun! It was Max's first Easter Egg hunt and no one had to tell him what to do. He went crazy! Here is my cute sister helping him. He wanted to hold all the eggs and didn't want to put them into basket :)

Turner had a great time too!

Here are all the boys with their loot!

After the shower the family surprised me with a baby shower! It was such a surprise and I felt so special. I have never been able to have a shower with my AZ family so it was pretty cool. I really loved everything and thought it was neat that everyone got something for both babies! These are the adorable cupcakes my cousins made- aren't they so cute!

I was sad that I didn't get any pictures while we were in Show Low or Prescott. We had a lot of fun with family and friends. The whole time we dreamed about moving to AZ as soon as we can. It was so hard to come back to real life! It really was such a great trip. It was the last week that I could travel so it will be short trips for a while for the Thomson family. I am sure we will attempt to make the trek when my parents come home from their mission- the whole time we kept wondering what it will be like with double the children!

Max's 2nd Birthday!

We had an awesome day on Max's birthday! Josh took half a day off and we were able to spend some quality time together as a family. Here are the cupcakes that I made for preschool to celebrate his birthday. The kids loved them! We had a family party that night with Josh's parents. I think his Cheese smile is so funny! I can't pull out a camera without getting this! It makes me laugh!

Here is the tractor cake that I made. This kid LOVES tractors. I was thinking that it didn't look much like a tractor but when he woke up from his nap and came into the kitchen where I was putting the finishing touches on the cake, he exclaimed "tractor, tractor!" I realized as long as he loved it, that was all that mattered!

He actually blew out his own candles- it took 2 tries. Probably not the best idea since he had a major runny nose but- what is a little bit of snot between family?

He loved his cake! We loved celebrating how much love and laughter this guy has brought into our lives over the last 2 years! He really brings so much into our family and I don't know how life would be without him. He is so funny and is always making everyone laugh. He is such a good kid and loves everyone! He is into every thing just like any 2 year old should be. He plays great with others and by himself. He is such a joy and we love him so much!!!

Jack and Jill

Those who haven't heard, we had our ultrasound (almost 2 weeks ago now!) It was on Max's birthday and I have never felt so much anxiety! We took Max to McDonald's for his birthday and then headed over to the Dr.'s office. My doctor doesn't do the big ultrasound so that the tech. can take more time with everything. After more waiting (of course) we went into the ultrasound room and got started. Now I know their job isn't just to figure out what you are having but as most of us know that is the #1 question- I guess along with, "Is everything OK?" So we start on the first baby and everything looks great. She says that it looks as if they were sharing a placenta which can only mean identical twins. She was very perplexed by the placenta as we later figured out I was having a contraction (non-labor) at the same time and she was confused by a separate mass. Then she continued on with baby A and discovered that it was a boy! She said that she was going to finish everything on that baby before she went to the next one (I was frustrated with that.) She kept mentioning that they were sharing a placenta so I said "That means identical twin boys right?" She then decided to go and check the gender on baby B. She took a look and said "yep! another boy!" My heart sunk a little. I had felt that it was a boy and a girl since I got pregnant and it was hard to let go of what I had been feeling. I should be use to it by now as I thought both of my boys were girls. Josh could tell that I was a little sad and he came to comfort me saying: "it will be fine, we know how to do boys." I had told myself that if it was both boys that I could be upset for a few minutes but I knew I would fall in love with the idea eventually. As Josh was comforting me she stopped and said, "wait a second, I think I was checking the same baby, they are really close- hold on" she then confirmed that she was in deed checking the same baby and decided to check the other baby. The she said, Oh wait, wait- this one is a girl! I was so excited- exactly what I had thought and wanted. She said that their placentas might have fused together or they might just not be able to see the brake. Everything looked healthy and good! After Josh took the print outs and sat down with Turner to explain what was in the pictures, Turner came over to me and said "I get a baby brother and a baby sister!" He is very excited and every time we go to the store he wants to buy something for them. We are pretty excited too!
