My Blog

Thanks for stopping by! I use to blog to "keep in touch," I use to blog to brag, I use to blog for an outlet. I have now realized I blog because these are the things I want my children to know/remember about our life together as a family. These days won't stop passing, but having a record of it when it is all a memory will be priceless to me.
I read your blog because I love you!

Arizona in pictures

Here are a couple of pictures that we took before we left for AZ. Here is my curious, friendly little boy. Here is my sweet, fun loving baby

And the most loving brothers I have ever seen!

When we first arrived in Arizona- there was an egg hunt scheduled. Yet the day we arrived it was raining. So my resourceful parents quickly called the church and set up a mean Easter egg hunt at the church. They set up a bounce house in the gym and eggs and toys throughout the classrooms.

The best part was the Easter bunny was personally there to deliver goodies to all of the kids!

Max was happy to be in the thick of it- here he is showing my the loot that he had managed to score so far. I didn't get any pictures of Turner getting any eggs because he was running ahead with the big kids.

We all got a chance to pose with the Easter bunny!

Even my mom!

The next day we had a basket from the Easter Bunny for the boys. Santa Claus worked hard to get all the main characters from "Cars" the movie. Yet he could not find Mater ANYWHERE! Those lazy elves must not have made enough for all the kids that wanted them. Well, the Easter Bunny happened to find it! Mom and Dad haven't even seen it since.

We spent the beginning of our week at dental appointments and hanging out with friends. On Friday we took a day trip to Montazuma's castle. It was amazing to look at these Ancient Native American homes. To think that they cooked meals, took care and educated their children, clean their homes all right here. They may have lived in a very different structure than I did but I was just struck with the reality that no matter when we all lived or where, these mothers had similar duties and feelings that I have everyday.

Turner was being a stinker and made it a rough trip but we all learned a little bit more patience that day.
Grandma and Grandpa enjoyed spending time with their grand kids that they don't get to see as much.

When we got back from our trip there was a big white envelope in the mailbox. We had been waiting all week for my parents to get their mission call. We had decided that it wasn't going to come while we were there and had come to accept that. We were jumping for joy when it was really there.

Here is my mom and dad discovering that they are going to the Munich Germany/Austria mission. My dad went to Austria when it was a separate mission, my brother, brother-in-law and Uncle all went to Munich. My parents also lived in Berlin in the 70's. I love the array of emotions that they experienced while reading the letter from the prophet asking them to serve!

Sharing this moment with a kiss!

My parents coincidentally had Kinder Eggs for us afterwards (they actually got them for Easter and forgot to give the out) what a great way to celebrate their call than a candy that is from Germany (and illegal in the US I might add :)

We got a chance to have 2 dates while we were there! One with our wonder friends Laura and Josias and the other with my parents and my brother and sister-in-law. It was wonderful! Sat. morning we headed home but we took our time. If any of you have traveled the road between Utah and Arizona often you have for sure noticed the Moqui cave. We have always sworn that we would "someday" go in. We finally did it!

We can't wait for our next trip!

Max's birthday!

Max's birthday was great! We love this boy so much and enjoyed honoring him on his first birthday. He got his first haircut and looked like a big boy!We went out to lunch and his Grandma and Grandpa Thomson gave him (and Turner) an airplane teeter todder! We made him a cow cake (since we always call him Moo.) It was so fun and he really enjoyed his cake. We all did :)
