My Blog

Thanks for stopping by! I use to blog to "keep in touch," I use to blog to brag, I use to blog for an outlet. I have now realized I blog because these are the things I want my children to know/remember about our life together as a family. These days won't stop passing, but having a record of it when it is all a memory will be priceless to me.
I read your blog because I love you!

Clue #4

Wow, this week has gone by fast and I can't believe that it is time for another clue! I could tell by the guesses that no one really got our clue last week. But we still have over a month so it isn't a bad thing that no one got any closer. Anyway for clue # 4: Josh and his family are very proud of their herataige. This baby will share a name with a famous mathematician from the same country! Good luck with your guesses (this one should be easier than last weeks)

Farmington Bay

We got a rare treat today! Josh got the day off of work :) We decided to head over to Farmington Bay. There were at least 100 bald eagles, hawks, and too many seagulls to count. Turner absolutly loves birds so he had such a great time looking at them all flying about.

Clue #3 and valentines day

For valentines day we celebrated Thursday with Turner. We had red heart pancakes for breakfast (I wish I would have got a picture) Heart shaped PB&J for lunch and Chicken Fedachini alphredo in a heart shaped bowl for dinner. This picture of the PB&J was taken with my cool spy camera my friend Rachel gave me for Christmas. Not too bad considering it is smaller than a credit card. It was fun. On Sat. Josh and I celebrated. He bought me the most beautiful tulips! I love love them. I would much rather have tulips than roses. They make me feel hopeful that spring is really on its way. We also got a rare treat- a date! Dinner and a movie toddler free. Thanks to the Porters! It was such a huge blessing since after #2 arrives those days will be few and far between. We had a great day! I love celebrating love! What a fabulous idea :)

Speaking of #2 we have clue #3. Before I post the clue there are a few things about the contest that I have failed to mention. All offical guesses must be submitted digitally - either as a comment on the blog or an email so that I have an offical time and date stamp so I can have an offical winner. Also the winner will be announced when the baby is born that is when his name will be announced. Just a hint- if you think you are close but not sure, send an email because people are getting ideas from other comments on the blog. Ok with all of that said here is the clue this week- it is in the form of a riddle (kinda)
Daddy (Josh) has already nick named him Doc. Happy guessing!
PS my spell check isn't working- that is really bad for me but even worse for those of you who are reading this. Sorry about my lack of spelling skills.

Let the games begin

With 2 months left to go we decided to start the name that baby game. Josh and I decided on a name for this little guy but as most of you know, we have kept it a suprise... until now. We are going to put a clue on the blog every week until the baby is born. Everyone has an opportunity to leave a guess every week. You can leave it as a comment (I have now opened the comments to everyone) or you can send a guess to teamthomson2005@gmail.com. Whoever guesses the correct first and middle name combo will win the prize! Which is a V chocolate carmel apple (for those of you who don't know- they are amazing!) Good luck to all of those who want to play!
Clue #1- One of his names is named after someone who has served as an apostle in our lifetime. His other name is someone on Josh's side of the family.
P.S.- We both really feel strongly that this is his name so if you guess it only positive comments are appriciated! Thanks

I feel pretty

Turner loves shoes- even heels. I don't worry much except when he puts on my shoes, goes to the mirror and says cute!

Big Helper

Turner is at the age where he LOVES helping. Of course I want to encourage this as much as possible even if sometimes it is a lot harder to have him help than it would be to just do it myself. The other day he wanted to help me with the dishes. He was so cute as he would fill the dishes with dish water and dump it out. He had the idea that the dished needed to be wiped but he didn't understand that you needed to use a rag because he was using his toy bus. He loved every minute of it until- the water got turned off. Then he turned on the water works of his own. Is it bad that sometimes I think it is cute when he throws tantrums?

starting early

We aren't really working on Potty training but we sit on the potty when Turner suggests it. About a week ago Turner wanted to sit on the potty a few seconds later he was done. To motivate him to stay on a bit longer and therefore hoping that something would happen, Josh gave Turner a book to look at on the potty. We thought it was so funny. Ever since then Turner thinks that he needs a book to sit on the potty. Not any book but a truck book.
